Choose the mode for RX480E ( RX480E-4 RX480E-4C ) by what should happen when you let go of the button.

Momentary holds the output only while you press the button. Release it, and the output returns to its off state. That fits a doorbell, a buzzer, a test LED, or moving something slowly.

Toggle changes state on each press and stays there. One press turns the output on, the next press turns it off. That fits a lamp, a fan, or a pump you want to keep running after you walk away.

The mode belongs to the receiver, not to one output pin ([why not per pin](https://rx480e.discourse.group/t/can-each-rx480e-4-output-pin-use-a-different-mode/22)). If a project needs both, the manual lists mixed modes, such as two toggle channels plus two momentary channels.

Both are set with the same learning button: one press for momentary, two presses for toggle.

What do you want to control? Tell us, and we can help you choose between momentary and toggle.

Wait, what happens after a power cut, though? Say the light was on in toggle mode—does it come back on by itself, or do I need to press the remote again? I’m a bit lost there.
